I can not believe that it is already October! This year passed by so quickly. Well, I felt like the summer dragged on forever, but, looking back, all of it just rushed by.
I have been in school for a few weeks now. Actually, it’s been a month at this point. I am really enjoying my classes. Recently, I posted a Back to School Tag. I mentioned what classes I’m taking and which ones I was most excited for. I am taking three classes this quarter. One is face-to-face, while the other two are online. The face-to-face class is Biological Anthropology. I’ve really enjoyed the class so far. I took the Intro to Anthro class with the same professor, and I like her.
I’m also taking Korean for the first time! Oh my goodness. I have no idea what I was thinking! I was so nervous about it, especially since it’s online, but it’s going pretty well so far. I’ve started making flashcards to help me memorize vocabulary and also to help with the rules. We haven’t learned too much, but this is a class for beginners so it can’t be too challenging for us. During the summer, I tried to use the Duolingo app to learn Korean, but that didn’t help me much at all.
My last class is an English class, which I don’t really like. I’ve never enjoyed English classes, because I don’t like being forced to write. But I need it for my degree, so I’m going to do my best and push through.
On the first day of classes I got the idea to start a book club. I have no idea why, since I’ve never been the type to join clubs. I was looking at our list of clubs on campus, since I was curious if we had a book club already. We don’t. I still kind of want to start a book club, but I think I need to focus on my school work for now. I’m not a very good student and my GPA is low. I need to do really well this quarter to raise my GPA. Maybe I’ll start one next quarter! Who knows.
It’s something that I actually really want to do, though. If not at school, then I will do it at some point. I just don’t know if I’m the right person to be in charge of a book club. But, I also have a bunch of ideas for a book club and I kind of want to be the one in charge. It’s confusing.
In other news, I have none. News, that is. My life mainly revolves around school most of the time. Which is funny to me since, as I said, I’m not a very good student. The thing is, I like the idea of learning, but I can’t focus on a subject for very long. I don’t really like classroom settings. These are just some of the things that cause me problems with school.
I didn’t intend for this to be a school update, but that’s what it turned into.
Are you in school? If so, what grade? What classes? If not, tell me about how you spend your days!
I’d love to hear about how your year has gone so far! Talk to me down in the comments!
