I know that the first day of fall was a while ago, but it has finally started to feel like fall where I live. So I figured that it was now appropriate for me to do this tag.
In fall, the air is crisp and clear. Name a book with a vivid setting!
Even though I didn’t end up liking the book very much, I’m going to go with Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan. The entire reason that I didn’t like this book was because of all the details and descriptions of every single little thing.
Nature is beautiful…but also dying. Name a book that is beautifully written, but also deals with a heavy topic like loss or grief.
I read The Hate U Give, by Angie Thomas, this year. It was an amazing young adult novel that I think everyone should read. It’s meant for the younger audiences, but it doesn’t shy away from those heavy topics, including loss and grief. Thomas handles them perfectly, in a way that’s real and approachable for any reader.
In order to keep warm, it’s good to spend some time with the people we love. Name a fictional family/household/friend group that you’d like to be a part of!
I feel like everyone says the Weasleys for this, but it’s so true! I love the way Molly accepts everyone into her home and treats them like family. I would love to be a Weasley, or at least a close friend that gets invited over for the holidays?
The colorful leaves are piling up on the ground. Show us a pile of fall-colored spines!
Fall is the perfect time for some storytelling by the fireside. Share a book wherein somebody is telling a story!
In Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan, Percy is telling the story to the reader. I mean he literally talks to the reader.
The nights are getting darker. Share a dark and creepy read!
I don’t read many dark and creepy reads. I have Shutter Island, by Dennis LeHane, on my shelf and I plan to read it before the end of October!
The days are getting colder. Name a short, heartwarming read that could warm up somebody’s cold a rainy day!
I also don’t read many short books. I prefer the longer ones, but I think I’d recommend Stardust by Neil Gaiman. I read it recently because the movie is one of my favorites. It’s not exactly heartwarming, but it’s not sad or anything like that either.
Fall returns every year (yay!). Name an old favorite that you’d like to return to soon!
I’d have to say Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. It’s my favorite book and I haven’t read it in a while. I need to cuddle up with it soon!
Fall is the perfect time for cozy reading nights. Share your favorite cozy reading accessories!
There isn’t anything that I specifically reach for when reading. Maybe some fuzzy socks, fluffy pillows, and some candles? I like to light candles in the fall because it makes the air feel cozy.
So that’s it for the questions! If you would like to do this tag (and for whatever reason, you still haven’t), then feel free to consider yourself tagged! I’d love to see what you have to say for these prompts!
I love the fall! It’s my favorite time of the year because it kicks off all the best parts of the year! What is your favorite time of the year? Do you have any exciting plans for the fall, or for the rest of the year?
